It is normal weekday on a autumnal evening and three wine enthusiastics are sitting in the table and having sparklings into their wineglasses. Jens Vikström, from Cisa wine importer, is serving Bestheim Grand Prestige Crémant d’Alsace Brut to Ulla Koski, while Matti Jalkanen (right) and Petri Kangasperko (left) are lifting their glasses! Sometimes it is just so relaxing to sit down like this, without any hurry, and taste new wines and their vintages.
Jens Vikström, as a true wineperson, wants to share with winepeople different kinds of wines. In the autumn time mainly red ones like; Poggio Le Volpi Roma Rosso from Lazio Italy, The Scream from Piemonte Italy and XM by Xavier Milhade Saint-Emilion Grand Cru from Bordeaux France. As a challenge there are two Bordeaux wines Château Tour Bayard Montagne-Saint-Emilion to be tasted, with vintages 2010 and 2018!
Finland is a long country and mostly the winetastings are taking place in the Capitol area. So sometimes it is convinient and necessary to travel to Helsinki, if you want to participate some special and limited tasting!
So after some weeks Matti Jalkanen is sitting on 12th floor in a restaurant in Helsinki, wondering with wineman where they have been involved in with so many wineglasses and wines?
But no worries mate, soon they feel comfortable when Sarah Pidgeon from Wynns Coonawrra Estate in Australia welcomes the participants to the winetasting. Sarah as a winemaker is having a profound winetasting organised by Anora. Also Sarah has chosen two wines to be tasted and compared with the vintages, Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon vintages 2013 and 2019!
Vituculture with terroir and vines are the starting point and precondition for any good wines. They are naturally also some keypoints within Wynns wines!
All’s well that ends well. For a wine amateurs it is allways rewarding to have the oppotunity to listen and learn more about winemaking and wines when real professional is speaking and having a winetasting.
