Narrative is a story and tale. Narratives can be seen as a tool when surveying your likes or dislikes concerning wine preferences. At its best stories are very interesting, giving background and advanced information about your wine interests. Narrative stories can be structually open or ordely thinking about the arch of the storyline. Human nature has a natural need, and many times skills for story telling. Good stories have vault of drama, clarity and they are explicit, understandable with personal commitments.
Adult Education Center’s wine and food -coursies montly meetings in Kuopion and in Juankoski were carried out via narratives. Evenings consisted of tales made out of wines or food told by group of two. When food was primary selected wine followed to mach up with the food. Interesting, narrative, wine highlighted meetings of people in Savo got more jag and complementary discussion when the wines were served blinded at the start.
Among people between three winecoursies with some 50 people Timo Vaittinen’s narrative story was one of a kind. It started with song of Lorelei with the idea that wines of Rhein got their essence through the enchanting songs along the river Rhine. The core went back over 30 years to the wine Opperheimer Krötenbrunnen Kerner Kabinett, which was Timo’s and his wife’s first real experience that stuck into their minds.
When food was another issue, Seppo Vinni’s implementation - fish soup - told about his growth with fishes. On a plate there were first stock made of pike-perch's and pike's parings, roasted pike-perch and cold smoked shrimps with onion, fennel, carrot, dill and spoonful of mayonnaise. As a complementary wine Tuija Uusitalo, Seppo's partner, had chosen Crémant from Bourgogne. Perfect marriage of food and wine!
Another remembrance with food was derived from the lunch that was served during the visit of French pilots in Kauhava. It was genuine Finnish pea soup with pan cakes and the year was 1984. In the picture one can see Creme Ninon modern, stylish version of pea soup. It was served with Cremant and before that, Aperol Spriz was served as an aperitif.
